Planning a Virtual Author Visit with Lee and Low Authors

As school and event cancellations continue due to the spread of COVID-19, educators, caregivers, and parents are looking for ways to facilitate learning at home. Breaking up the day with online activities and virtual events can be challenging, but we’re here to offer support in any way we can.

Many of our authors and illustrators do virtual visits and can present to your classroom or library via Zoom, Skype, or another platform. Click here to browse our list of available creators.

When organizing a virtual author visit, here are some questions to consider:

  • Do you have a budget for this event? Most authors usually charge an honorarium for virtual visits. Under the current circumstances, some authors are able to be extra flexible. Our event coordinator can help match you with an author who will fit your needs.
  • What kind of visit do you want? Do you want someone who will do a series of small workshops, or someone who can present to your whole class at one time? Are you envisioning a short Q&A or a longer presentation? How old are your students?
  • What kind of author or illustrator do you want? We have authors and illustrators from a wide variety of backgrounds and can help you find the right fit for your school.
