After just two weeks, our Kickstarter campaign to help bring our new graphic novel Clockwork Curandera Vol. 1: The Witch Owl Parliament to even more readers, is now fully funded! Mil gracias to everyone who believed in, supported, and shared this project. We are extremely grateful for each of you.

What comes next?

Our primary aim has always been to build preorders so we can expand our first print run, and all additional funding beyond our goal will allow us to do that on a larger scale. Beyond that, we wanted to share three stretch goals that are near and dear to us—including our biggest stretch goal, which has been a dream of ours since this project was in its earliest stages.

$7,500 Stretch Goal: Exclusive Virtual Launch Party for Kickstarter Backers

Whether you kicked in $5 or $50, if you’ve backed our project you’ll be invited to an exclusive live virtual launch party with the whole creative team behind Clockwork Curandera Vol. 1: The Witch Owl ParliamentYou’ll get a chance to hear more about how the book was made and ask the creators your questions.

$9,000 Stretch Goal: Creator Bonus

We want our creative team to benefit directly from our Kickstarter success! If we reach $9,000 we plan to give each of the creators an extra bonus beyond their advance and royalties.

$11,500 Stretch Goal: Author Visit + Book Donation to an Underfunded Border School

Clockwork Curandera is a book that will have special significance to readers with ties to the US/Mexico border, especially those who rarely see themselves and their ancestors as heroes in books. Many border schools are underfunded and cannot afford to bring authors in to visit their students.

At the $11,500 stretch goal, we will have enough to sponsor co-creator David Bowles for a school visit to an underfunded school along the US/Mexico border. We will be working directly with David, his booking agent, and his contacts in the Rio Grande Valley to identify an appropriate recipient school and coordinate the details. This funding goal would cover costs for David to do three presentations (hopefully in person, but virtually if necessary) as well as a donation of 200 copies of the book, so that every participating student is able to receive their own copy of Clockwork Curanderain their preferred language, to keep.

It’s not too late to pledge your support! Pre-order your copies of Clockwork Curandera Vol. 1: The Witch Owl Parliament through our Kickstarter.
