Anti-Racism Diverse Book List for Grades PreK-8

What does it mean to be anti-racist? Several definitions exist, but Ibram X. Kendi’s embodies the actionable steps behind anti-racist work: “The only way to undo racism is to consistently identify and describe it– and then dismantle it.”

Children’s books are the perfect avenue for anti-racist work: they have a way of conveying issues, feelings and critical history through relatable characters and storylines that young people can connect to. Children are more capable than we give them credit for, and anti-racism work begins at birth. Engaging children’s books afford opportunities to begin anti-racism work early and often.

We’re excited to release our Anti-Racism Diverse Reading List for Grades PreK-8+.
