Teachers: Apply for a $250 Diverse Books Grant through Adopt A Classroom

2020 Diverse Book Grants

Teachers, are you in need of new diverse books for your classroom (or virtual classroom) this fall?

We are thrilled to partner with Adopt a Classroom, who is offering $250 grants for diverse books from Lee & Low

The AdoptAClassroom.org Racial Equity in Schools Grant is open to any licensed pre-kindergarten through grade 12 teacher employed at an accredited K-12 school in the United States. Selected teachers will receive a diverse book bundle shipped directly to their school. You can click here to browse some of the books available (exact titles  subject to availability).

Need more motivation? Don’t miss this wonderful interview with a teacher on why diverse books matter, especially during distance learning. She says, “I have seen students become amazed at reading books about people who look like them and have similar stories to tell.”

The application will close October 23, 2020 at 11:59 PM CT. Please spread the word to any educators you know who may be interested!

  1. We are a Title III school that meets the needs of culturally diverse students. My students would be very greatful if I would be able to have stories from their homelands in my classroom that would motiviate them to read and share with their classmates a piece of their heratige.
